China and Russia started working together on the design of Changhe Z-10. But there was no consensus between the two countries on the fundamental design of the helicopter. It is said that Russia stopped its support for the design of this helicopter. After that the Armaments Department of the Chinese Army started working with some local Chinese designers. Later, Changhe Z-10 was manufactured by Changhe Aircraft Industries Corporation (CAIC) in China.
In the year 2016, China told the world that Changhe Z-10 has been deployed in all its army aviation units. Changhe Z-10 is China’s first indigenous combat helicopter. Interestingly, this helicopter was launched in the year 2012 and till now China has more than 200 such helicopters.

The Changhe Z-10 can carry 2 crew. The length of the helicopter is 14.15 meters, height is 3.85 meters. Its gross weight is 5,540 kg and maximum takeoff load capacity is 7 thousand kg. This helicopter can fly at a speed of 270 kilometers per hour. Its range is 800 kilometers. It can fly up to a height of 6400 meters above sea level. That means it can pass through the difficult terrain of Tibet.
