According to the report, China has so far completed two such landings on the moon, which are in its far side i.e. remote areas. In the year 2019, the Chang’e 4 mission did this work and now the Chang’e 6 mission has landed on the far side of the moon, which is a dark area. No other country has done this till now.
If everything goes according to plan, the Chang’e 6 mission will create history in the coming days. The mission’s purpose is to collect samples from the moon and bring them back to Earth. This will give researchers an opportunity to take a close look at samples from the far side of the moon for the first time.
This is a robotic mission, which Chinese scientists have worked very hard to complete. The mission was launched on May 3. Its purpose is to bring samples from that part of the moon, which is always away from the Earth. Just four days after liftoff, the Chang’e 6 mission entered the Moon’s orbit. It kept moving in orbit for the next few weeks and the landing was planned as per the plan. It is being told that it made a soft landing on the surface of the moon without any difficulty.
For the next few weeks, the lander will study the lunar landing site and collect about 2 kg of samples, which will include dust and rocks. Some samples will be taken from the surface, while some samples will be collected from a depth of 2 meters. It is expected that the collected samples will return to Earth by June 25.
