BYD Seal EV Getting Strong Response in India, Company Deleivers 200 Units in Single Day

BYD, one of the major electric vehicle (EV) companies, has delivered 200 units of the electric sedan Seal in India. The company has received more than 1,000 bookings for Seal in a little over two months. Its 200 units were delivered on May 26 in major cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Delhi NCR.

The company has introduced Seal in three variants. It is available in two options of single and dual motor and two battery packs. Its price is around Rs 41 lakh to Rs 53 lakh (ex-showroom). It has three variants – Premium, Dynamic and Performance. The company’s target is to rapidly expand its sales and service network.

The entry level Dynamic variant of Seal comes with RWD setup. Its price is around Rs 41 lakh (ex-showroom). Its Premium variant with RWD setup is priced around Rs 45.55 lakh and the top-end Performance variant is priced at Rs 53 lakh. It has been brought to the country as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). It is available in Arctic Blue, Aurora White, Atlantis Grey and Cosmos Black colours.

The range of this electric car is about 650 km on a single charge. Its dynamic variant generates 201 bhp power and 310 Nm peak torque. Its premium variant has a maximum power of 308 bhp and torque of 360 Nm. Both motors of its performance variant generate a maximum power of 522 bhp and a torque of 670 Nm. BYD has manufactured 70 lakh electric cars. Last year, the company crossed the manufacturing of 50 lakh units. BYD is increasing its presence in the international market. The company has expanded its electric cars in about 64 countries. EV According to a study by the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), by 2029, the prices of petrol and diesel cars and EVs could be almost the same.
